Autumn is always a popular time for window art. It’s a creative way to mark the seasonal shift, connect with your community and get your business on people’s radar in the lead-up to the festive season.
As a window artist, Autumn is one of my absolute favourite seasons. I love the warm earthy colours that we associate with falling leaves, pumpkins, bonfires…

Autumn window art inspiration
There are several different angles you can opt for when it comes to autumn windows: from seasonal favourites to spooky halloween fun. You’ll already have a good sense what might work best for your brand.
My job as a window artist is to help you work out how you can be clever with your design and messaging to make your design work harder for you.
In these three case studies, I share how I worked with my clients to create Autumn window art that’s pretty AND purposeful.
1. A special offer with a seasonal twist
I worked with Lawton & Dawe estate agent in Hove to help them promote a seasonal offer of reduced fees.
The concept
We came up with the strapline ‘The leaves may be falling, but so are our fees’.
Design decisions
The available window space is fairly small, so we opted for maximum impact with a tree filling the window space and colourful leaves drifting down towards the ground.
For the colour, we kept it simple with earthy russet tones and bold white for the lettering.

SEASONal storytelling with your products as the main character
Another regular client, Harriet’s of Hove, wanted to show how their refills and eco-friendly items could help people get cosy as the days get shorter and the air gets crisper.
The concept: Reasons why we love Autumn
The team shared all their favourite products for a cosy night in which I then built into a narrative.
Design decisions
We went for a bold heading at the top of the window, with falling leaves framing the sides. Along the bottom of the window, the star autumn products were arranged with hand-lettered labels.
For colours, we went for orangey-reds, with contrasting pops of bright blue to help this window stand out.

3. GOING ALL OUT FOR HALLOWEEN
iMove estate agents know how to do Halloween: decorating the office inside and out, spooktastic costumes, and trick-or-treat for local families at their office. So it’s only fitting to have a bespoke window display that plays up to their fun side in the weeks leading up to the event.
The concept: Haunted house
For last year’s Halloween window, we opted for a haunted house design with bats flying by and a ghost emerging from the window.
Design decisions
With their double-fronted shop front, there was also the opportunity to add further spooky details in between property listings and other promotional messaging, ensuring the window art works with the existing vinyls, rather than against them.
